Calgan’s Key Cleaning Rule
No matter which fabric your Calgan Recliner lounge suite is covered in, the same cleaning and care tips apply (except for a handful of fabric-specific guidelines* to follow)
Wipe any spills or liquids immediately; do not let them sit. Wring out the excess water before using the cloth or sponge, and pat the area afterwards with a dry towel. In most cases, this should only require a damp cloth.
Never apply anything to your Calgan lounge suite other than clean, warm water on a clean, soft cloth. This means no chemicals, household cleaners, or dishwashing agents EVER! They can dull the sheen of the material and cause premature fading. Abrasive cleaners can also scratch the suite’s smooth surface, while some household cleaners remove plasticiser from leather-look material, making it brittle.
Vacuum or dust the suite as part of your regular household cleaning routine. Make sure to clean out any small folds in the fabric to guard against trapped dust and odours. This can make a big difference to how your suite holds up over time. The arms of he lounge suite are often exposed to perspiration from the palms of people’s hands and bits of food served to guests. Clean these arm areas regularly. Don’t expose vour suite to direct sunlight, and don’t place heaters close to your suite.

Calgan collaborates closely with local and African leather tannery’s, to bring our customers the best quality leather upholstery options in the market. We offer corrected grain full leather, which is a polished leather to remove imperfections,
Semi-Anneline Leather is a softer leather which still preserves the natural markings of leather.
Lastly, we have a range of distressed and buffed leathers which brings out the raw and rugged appearance of the leather hides. All our leathers are offered in a variety of colours.
As a more affordable option but still leather, Calgan offers a range of Leather Upper lounge suites. Depending on the design of the suite, the areas of the leather panels will differ.
However as a general rule, most of Calgans Leather Upper Suites consist of leather seats, leather inner backrests and leather armrests. The outer back, sides of the arms, sides of the backrest and foot panels will mainly be in a leather look fabric.

Calgans imported leather look fabric range is made out of synthentic microfibre suedes to create a synthetic leatherette.
Calgans new leather look fabrics are soft to the touch and look like leather. It comes in a variety of colours and we are always evolving and sourcing the best quality leather looks.
Our soft fabric ranges consists of fabrics such as chenilles and microfibre suedes. Each range is different and unique in texture, thickness and colours. However the same cleaning instructions apply unless otherwise specified.
